The Department of Mathematics of Cinvestav continues the tradition of the Jose Adem Memorial Lecture Series in honour of Prof. Jose Adem. The event occurs annually in the spring and will be given by an internationally recognized mathematician. It will consist of a series of three events: the first for a general audience, the second for students of mathematics and the third for specialists in the field in question.

Jose Adem is internationally recognized for his fundamental contributions to the algebraic topology. He was a founding member and head of the Department of Mathematics (1961-1973). In addition, he earned international recognition for the Department through his scientific research and his generosity and charisma.
