There will be a small bus leaving Mexico City on Sunday, October 31 in the afternoon.  The bus will depart from Cinvestav around 3:00 p.m. The best way to get from Mexico City’s Airport to Cinvestav is to take a taxi cab. Make sure to buy your taxi cab ticket inside the airport terminal.  There is a booth selling the tickets before entering the customs area, next to the luggage pick up area.  If you miss this booth, there is another one as you exit the custom area, to the left of the exit doors.  The price for a taxi cab to Cinvestav is about $150 pesos (around $13 USD).  Show the following address to the person selling the taxi cab tickets, as well as to the taxi cab driver:

How to get to Cinvestav

In case you cannot make it to Cinvestav by 3:00 p.m., please let us know as some of the locals participants will be driving to San Miguel and we will try to make a special arrangement for your transportation.

For the return part of the trip, there will be another bus leaving San Miguel on Saturday 6 at 3:00 p.m.  The bus will get to Mexico City around 6:00 p.m.

If you came from USA, you can get a flight direct from Chicago to Queretaro International Airport “Fernando Espinoza” and get a bus to San Miguel de Allende or in case of arrival in the afternoon or night, stay in the Holiday Inn of the airport.

You can get to San Miguel de Allende from Mexico City by bus.  It's a 3-hour trip to San Miguel from Mexico City's Terminal Norte, on a first-class bus (with one stop in Querétaro). The following companies, Primera Plus, Satelite, ETN, and Omnibus de Mexico, all have one to six deluxe buses per day. We recommend ETN.

San Miguel's Centro de Autobuses, (the bus station) is 1 1/2 miles west of town on the westward extension of calle Canal, called Calzada a la Estación. Taxis should be 15 pesos during the day and usually 20 pesos at night into town and available at all hours.
